Hours:
9.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday, with flexibility required outside those times on occasion. We are working in a hybrid working model with a minimum of 3 days within the office. There is 1 designated team day within the office per week and 1 firmwide day in the office per month.

Joelson is a thriving commercial law firm based in the West End of London, with 65+ people within the firm.
This role is to be a key member of the litigation team, providing a first-class service to our clients on a range of matters. The team has 2 Partners, 1 Solicitor, 1 Legal Assistant and 1 Trainee.
This is a role is to provide essential support to the team for the expanding work and service for new and existing clients. The work covers a broad spectrum of commercial litigation/disputes, including:-
Fraud
Contractual claims
Professional negligence claims
shareholder disputes
IP disputes
IT disputes
Reputation Management
Clients include small to medium enterprises and some larger corporates. The team seeks to involve all members in client relationship building and business development.
The Opportunity:

Client service:
Assisting Partners with contractual disputes, shareholder issues, drafting, claims in tort, professional negligence, fraud, IP disputes, and other areas of our specialisms;
Offering commercial and practical client focussed solutions for matters, working alongside the Partners to research, plan and execute on steps to support the client needs
Ensuring client matters are effectively progressed and recording time accurately for client billing
Liaising with chambers on drafting documents and trial bundles.
Collaborating with the client billing process and ensuring financial hygiene with all WIP
Advising clients appropriate to your level by phone and email promptly, efficiently, and accurately;
Attending client meetings. Typically, this will be with a partner to provide second support on matters.
Managing your own files (with partner supervision), discussing fee quotes and tactical and strategic advice with partners;
Offering mentorship to junior team members and delegating administration where appropriate.
Providing excellent client service at all times in line with the Joelson values;
Marketing/Business Development
Helping with updates and preparing articles/blogs for the website and for sending out;
Attending networking events and engaging enthusiastically with the firm’s marketing and BD initiatives
Other Duties:
To maintain awareness of the legal market, in particular relating to Dispute Resolution;
Efficient time recording and case management using IT systems;
Participating in firm-wide and departmental training sessions.
Getting involved with a variety of Firm-wide committee initiatives to help support the culture and promotion of the Firm and its services.
Supporting initiatives for the benefit of the culture at the firm and team success.
Ideal Candidate:
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
Strong experience of commercial litigation with a minimum of 2 years experience.
Strong academic background;
A general understanding of contractual and tortious principles, and The Civil Procedure Rules;
An interest in dispute resolution work and the motivation to develop technical expertise;
Adaptable communication skills, both verbal and written;
Prioritisation and administration skills to manage multiple workstreams;
A collaborative and supportive approach with colleagues and clients
A proactive and growth mindset towards achieving goals and professional development;
Possess good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and, Excel, and an ability to pick up new systems quickly.
